News & EventsMany businesses are experiencing impacts to their supply chain due to the Covid-19 outbreak and that includes businesses who are delivering important medical supplies. With the help of Strongbridge LLC, one large provider is effectively tracking known infections and COVID-related supplies as they move through the organization’s supply chain. Strongbridge has participated in rapid development projects based on the location of known COVID-19 cases in order to circumvent standard processes and make changes to the production environments in a timely manner to keep critical deliveries flowing. This delivery service firm has been working with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) on transporting masks to parts of the country where they are needed most and the Strongbridge team tracks specific supplies including masks in order to provide estimated times of arrival and leverage various routing services to ensure timely delivery. Trip departures and arrivals are not only identified by arrival and departure scan events, but also through the use of GPS devices on the tractor trailer trucks. The GPS devices are geo-fenced to the shipping facilities where they depart and arrive so that a more accurate estimated time of arrival (ETA) can be provided to hospitals and other locations where much-needed personal protective equipment (PPE) is being delivered. Strongbridge’s Geographic Information System (GIS) team has worked with the CDC to obtain real-time updates on reported infections and built a dashboard for the shipping company to monitor. This is just one example of how Strongbridge is helping during this healthcare crisis. Strongbridge provides software development, system engineering and geospatial services to government agencies and other essential organizations during both times of normal operation and times of crisis. 100% of our employees are on the job each day providing critical services that help keep this country moving.
